Today I was busy hydrating and worrying just a little about my sore left foot. I won’t allow myself to worry a lot though, at least not about the race, because there is little more that I can do now other than eat, drink and sleep well. There are always many other things that I like to worry about though, and so my brain is well occupied. You know, the usual same-old for me.
Training has gone reasonably well. A month ago I was well ahead of where I was at the same time last year, but then I did what is typical for me and I slacked off a little. I did manage to do all of my long runs, but I missed a lot of interval and tempo runs over the last few weeks. I had been hoping to beat my time from last year, but now I’m not sure that I will be possible. I do know that I can finish this though, as long as nothing goes drastically wrong. I do not want to be one of those runners who are passed out on the side of the course because of being dehydrated; hence the hydrating I am doing now.
So far I have raised $300 through online and in person donations. I would still love to raise a little bit more. If you would care to sponsor me, you can do so here. Thank you – and thank you to those of you who already sponsored me!
And if you are running this weekend, let me know so that I can cheer you on. If you will be a spectator and know where you will be standing (race map is here), let me know that too so I can look for you. If you need a few more songs for your running playlist, check out my playlist here.
Best of luck to all runners this weekend, and a huge thanks to all of you who sponsored me or who will be watching the races. People cheering on the sides really does make a difference and is so appreciated. Happy Trails.
