I was surprised and pleased yesterday to find out that my hard work has paid off and can even be heard by another person. I was at a doctor’s appointment yesterday, you see, and my doctor listened to my heart.
“You have a strong heart. You could run a marathon,” he told me.
“Really? I’m running a half-marathon next month,” I replied. I paused and asked him, “so really, you can hear that I’ve been training?”
He told me that yes he could, and also that he had good ears.
I have always known that exercise is good for your heart, and maybe this should have been obvious to me, but I had no idea that exercise could improve the way your heart sounds through a stethescope.
I am exceedingly happy to have found this out, and I will keep it in mind as I tackle my long run this weekend.
That is awesome feedback from your doc. Isn't it great to know that all that hard work is paying off, not only for the half-marathon, but for your health?
One month today exactly! I posted about it this morning too.
Not only do you have a strong heart, you also have a good and kind heart.
That is so nifty! I'm inspired to go for a run today. Well done you!
That is interesting. I need to exercise my heart more. With my family history it is very important 🙂 Congrats on your excellent checkup!
