Go Now in Peace

I have just gotten home from watching the Remembrance Day ceremony at my children’s school. Children singing and reciting poetry in unison automatically brings tears to my eyes, and to hear them singing about poppies and war just makes it so much more poignant.

I have this day off and I am going to use it well. This morning I had the time to do my girls’ hair and make them look pretty. One girl has a french braid today and the other has two pony tails. Normally when I leave the house they are still wearing their sweet bed-heads and are sitting at the breakfast table. I was able to walk the girls to school, and then I even had time to have a nice conversation with some lovely Moms as I walked home afterwards. I spent time at the school ceremony and I remembered. The rest of the day will be spent with some friends and my family, and doing some things that are restorative and peaceful.

Going now in peace…
