I Love Lists!

Laurie from Not Just About Cancer posted recently about lists. I love lists and I can’t get anything done without one, not at home, and not at work. I just can’t start something unless I have a tangible piece of paper telling me to get going. Laurie posted a list of goals that she was making for the next month, and I hope she will forgive me for blatantly copying her idea for a blog post, and even for copying some of the items on her list. I hope you don’t mind, Laurie!

1. I will start training in earnest for the half marathon in May, running 3x per week.

2. I will also do at least one strength work-out a week.

3. I will make soup twice once.

4. I will clean out my bedroom closet.

5. I will go skating with my family on the canal, and enjoy it.

6. I will try to go to bed earlier.

7. I will call a friend to go out for coffee or wine twice.

8. I will practice my French more often at work and not worry so much about the mistakes that I make.

9. I will get a babysitter at least one time and go out for dinner with Tony (slam dunk as my Dad is watching the kids tonight!)

10. Run at least 2x per week (in case I flunk out at #1)

  1. I am totally addicted to lists too! Unfortunately, I'm no convinced they do me much good though … I'll always making new ones on scrap pieces of paper that I then lose and start the process all over again. But, even though I never actually work through my lists, it does help my head feel a bit less cluttered!

    p.s. Saw you comment re Twilight. Nah, I couldn't get through the book and the only reason I made it through the movie was because I had a friend with me — otherwise I would have snuck into a different theatre!

    I love lists too, and could almost have written many of these myself!! I LOVE making soup and do it all the time in the winter – I might even say my husband is getting sick of having soup so many nights a week.

    Good for you for training for a half marathon!! My goal is 10k for May – I had hoped this year would be my year for the half but too many stupid foot and knee problems are likely going to make that impossible.

    I need to go to bed earlier, too, and I should start that tonight!

    I'm all for lists and all for the running journal on your blog. I can live vicariously through you that way because I can guarantee that the chance of me running for 2 hours voluntarily is pretty non-existent.

    Please clarify the time frame for your list. You aren't supposed to try and get all that done in a month are you? Those are goals for the season, right? Please?
